ABOUT

Hi, I’m Diane, a certified Mat Pilates instructor passionate about helping people feel strong, confident, and at home in their bodies. I’m originally from the Philippines, where community and friendship are at the heart of life and that’s why I chose the name Amiga, which means ‘female friend.’ For me, Pilates isn’t just about exercise, it’s about creating a warm, welcoming space where you feel supported every step of the way.

My own journey with Pilates started when I was looking for a way to build strength through something I truly enjoy, and I was amazed by how much stronger and better I felt overall, both physically and internally, after just a few sessions. That experience inspired me to train as an instructor so I could share those benefits with others.

Today, I teach at a studio outside Buxton and run local pop-up classes to bring Pilates closer to home. I’m also currently training in Reformer Pilates, so I can offer even more variety and ways to help you move well and feel great. My goal is to create a friendly, supportive space where anyone, whether you’re brand new or already love Pilates, can enjoy its many benefits.

I’d love to welcome you to a class soon, why not join my list so you’re first to hear when the next one opens?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any Pilates experience?

Not at all! My classes are beginner-friendly and I’ll guide you through each movement step by step.

What do I need to bring?

Come dressed in comfortable clothing, and don’t forget your mat and a bottle of water to stay hydrated.

I have an injury or health condition, can I still join?

In most cases, yes. Please let me know about any injuries or medical conditions before class so I can offer safe modifications. You’ll also be asked to complete a short PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) before your first session to ensure Pilates is suitable for you. If you’re currently under medical care, please make sure you’ve been cleared to exercise by your doctor or physiotherapist before attending.

Where are your classes held?

Classes currently take place in Buxton, with exact locations varying for each pop-up session. You’ll see the full details when booking.
